Jimmy Garcia-Meza, Executive Advisor
Jimmy Garcia-Meza has over 20 years of experience in executive and sales management roles. He was recently CEO of FilesX Inc, a storage software company acquired by IBM in 2008. Before FilesX Inc, he spent 6 years in a variety of corporate officer management roles at Silicon Image (SIMG). As VP of Worldwide Sales, he quadrupled the company’s sales in 3 years to $175M and established the widely used HDMI standard at all major consumer electronics manufacturers in Asia, the U.S. and Europe. As VP and General Manager of the Storage division, he launched the first RAID on chip controllers in the world, and as VP of Corporate Development he led the company’s M&A strategy and purchased sciworx from Infineon in 2007. Prior to Silicon Image Jimmy was a Venture director at Index Ventures, the leading venture capital company in Europe. He also spent 12 years at Sun Microsystems in multiple management and sales roles, including WW Director of the OSS/BSS Telecommunications Line of business responsible for $1.7B in annual sales. While living in Europe, he was Telecommunications sales development director for Europe, Asia and Latin America with responsibility for $600M in revenue. Prior to moving to Europe, he ran sales for Sun’s office in Mexico after developing the Latin American market for Sun for 4 years.
He has completed the Executive program at Stanford University and has MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Networks from the University of Kansas.
Jimmy is fluent in Spanish and French and has working knowledge of both Portuguese and Italian.
