Robin Campbell focuses her legal practice exclusively on privacy and data protection . She has spent the last seven years working with a major Washington D.C. law firm, where she is a member of their global privacy team. She specializes in the development and implementation of global information management strategies for the handling of personal information, including employee, customer, and consumer information. She has also developed expertise in the increasing number of state security breach notification statutes, as well as the pending federal laws, and has advised clients both on safeguard protocols in advance of a breach and response plans after a security breach.
In Geneva, Switzerland Robin worked as a special consultant to Hewlett Packard, Europe when the European Data Protection Directive was in the early stages of implementation. She worked with a cross-functional task force to develop a global compliance strategy under both the EU Directive and the upcoming Safe Harbor requirements. The task force acted as a European advisory body on the new privacy legislation, a central point of contact for all questions related to privacy and data protection, and it promoted a detailed policy framework within the company for handling personal data in its daily business.
Before joining Hewlett Packard, Robin spent 7 years at Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges in San Francisco, California as a litigator.
Robin received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Angelo State University. She graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1990, and studied at the University of London where she specialized in international law. She is a member of the California and the District of Columbia bars.
